Bob McDiarmid

Senior Technical Project Manager

Palo Alto, CA

Bob is a Senior Technical Project Manager who's known for bringing clarity, calm, and momentum to complex projects. His knack for breaking down highly technical work into something teams can actually understand and act on is a specialty. Bob's focus on thoughtful processes, strong documentation, and collaboration helps teams move faster without creating chaos along the way.

Bob has supported projects such as the Michael J. Fox Foundation's "All Grit No Quit" campaign and content efforts for Iowa iPERS, bringing a steady, thoughtful presence to every team he joins. He holds PMP, CSM, and Mindful Project Management Leader (MPML) certifications. These credentials reflect both his technical expertise and his belief that how work gets done matters just as much as what gets delivered.

Before joining Lullabot, Bob's career spanned a wide range of industries, from serving as a Submarine Cryptography Specialist in the United States Navy to leading change management at Swedish Medical Center. He went on to lead web efforts for San Francisco radio stations KOIT 96.5 Lite Rock and KDFC Classical 102.1, before moving into higher education and enterprise roles at Stanford University, Boise State University, and Workday.

At Workday, Bob built and rolled out a governance system for their enterprise Salesforce platform that removed friction, improved collaboration, and helped teams ship work faster. At Stanford, he earned a reputation for helping non-technical stakeholders truly understand what was happening in complex projects, something that continues to define his approach today.

Outside of work, Bob is a published author, a hobbyist in ceramics and sculpture, and a proud dog dad to a 75-pound "lapdog" named Orca. He lives with his husband of nearly 20 years, David.
