Kent Bye
Kent Bye graduated with an electrical engineering degree from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 1998. He worked at Northrop Grumman as a radar systems engineer for five years where he developed simulation software programs and became well-versed in working with complex modular systems.
For the last 10 years, Kent has also produced and directed a number of different independent film projects, and is currently heading up the Lullabot Learning Series on DVD. Kent has an impeccable attention to detail, which has assisted him in maintaining archival collections for documentary filmmaking as well as capturing documentation for a number of Drupal conferences and meetings.
Kent has also participated in a variety of different new media conferences over the past five years, and has been able to apply his diverse skill set to both new media production and web development. In the process of tracking the latest online trends and discussions, he found himself becoming more interested in what was being implemented within the free and open source Drupal content management framework.
He fell in love with the flexibility of Drupal because of how it empowers people to participate, manage and create online communities as well as the different ways that it can tap into their collective intelligence. He also has a keen interest in visualization, and created the Visualize Backtrace module to generate function call stack flowcharts for Drupal page loads.
