Robert Douglass
Robert Douglass studied information science at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. While working for Hype.de and ABRACON.de he learned the art of building enterprise class web applications, serving clients such as DaimlerChrysler, Cognis, and Sanofi-Aventis.
Lured to the Drupal project in 2003, Robert quickly became involved as a contributor and established himself as a Drupal freelancer. His major projects, prior to joining Lullabot, included NowPublic.com, the European Aviation Safety Agency's Airworthiness Directives Database, and many sites for individuals, such as composer Kerry Turner.
In 2005, Robert co-authored the book Building Online Communities with Drupal, phpBB, and WordPress (Apress). As the first book to be published that covered Drupal in depth, "Building Online Communities" has proven to be a valuable guide to Drupal newcomers and experienced Drupallers alike.
More recently, Robert was a technical editor for Matt's Pro Drupal Development book.
Robert is also responsible for Drupal's involvement in the Google Summer of Code program. The program has generated a significant influx of new Drupal talent and brilliant code contributions, including Lullabot's own Angela Byron.
Robert has spoken about Drupal at Drupalcons in Amsterdam and Vancouver, as well as FROSCON 2006. Robert is the founder of the Köln/Bonn Drupal users group.
Robert has moved on from Lullabot, so contact him and keep up with his activities at RobsHouse.net.
