Listen online:
- DrupalVoices169.mp3
Alex Barth (aka alex_b) of Development Seed talks about some of the work that he's been doing with aggregation with the Feeds module, which has real-time aggregation support for the PubSubHubbub protocol. He talks about some of the trends in real-time aggregation and some of the free services like Superfeedr that can help convert traditional RSS feeds into distributed, real-time Publish/subscribe communication.

As Alex says Feeds is a consumer while Services is a provider. Feeds can consume data from any web site supporting the right format - Services needs a specific compliant client to push data and needs authentication.
I'd say that Services and Feeds instead of duplicating each other are good companions. Services can expose data in formats that Feeds can consume.

hmm.. i heard drupal becoming hot!
anyone know what it means to communicate?
I know nothing about computers except they have keys. But I bet I'm more intelligent than you are. so here is the challenge for all of you computer geeks who never see the sun.
I pick out the theme from drupal. you take me from knowing absolutely nothing about computers to building a website. Do you thaaank one of you idiot geeks could do such a thing or does everyone who uses drupal flip out on acid. all of you geekos have wasted five days of my time in endless circles with nothing leading in a logical line from start to finish.
Sorry to hear you have problems
I think you are missing one little thing: Geeks do read a lot and like to find solutions to problems. Drupal is a super application but like all apps it takes some (self)education.
Read some documentation on how to install Drupal. It's not that hard really.
If you really want to get going quickly I wholeheartedly recommend the Drupal books books written by the Lullabot people.
