[Dave Reid](http://drupal.org/user/53892) is one of the [top Drupal 7 core contributors](https://www.lullabot.com/podcasts/drupal-voices-93-dries-buytaert-state-drupal-2010) and has his hand in maintaining or co-maintaining nearly [50 contributed modules](http://drupal.org/user/53892). Reid is the [Drupal 7 maintainer](https://drupalcode.org/viewvc/drupal/drupal/MAINTAINERS.txt?revision=1.46&view=markup&pathrev=HEAD) of the contact module, statistics module, and the token system as well as co-maintainer of the path system and the update module. He talks about some of the new APIs that he helped work on such as [hook\_url\_inbound\_alter](http://api.drupal.org/api/function/hook_url_inbound_alter/7), [hook\_url\_outbound\_alter](http://api.drupal.org/api/function/hook_url_outbound_alter/7) and a series of [hook\_modules\_\*](http://api.drupal.org/api/search/7/hook_modules) functions that can trigger actions after modules are either enabled, disabled, installed or uninstalled. At the time of this recording at DrupalCon San Francisco, Dave was a freelance developer, but since that time he has [taken a full-time developer position at Palantir.](https://www.palantir.net/about/team/reid) For more information on [best practices for contrib module development and support](http://sf2010.drupal.org/conference/sessions/best-practices-contrib-development-and-support), then be sure to check out the DrupalCon San Francisco presentation that Reid helped present.
