Humongous
7x the size of Barcelona, awesome!!
Shortly will be easy to fill a football stadium, and watch a game between context and panels teams :)
Elephant in the room
Thanks for the great wrap up guys!
However, there must have been a huge number of listeners eagerly waiting to hear about the progress of Drupal 7, which this podcast sorely lacked.
I think (rightly or wrongly) a lot of listeners have come to expect the Lullabot podcasts to deliver the "inside scoop" on Drupal development, especially because you guys are so involved in core.
We all know the usual, "D7 will be shipped when critical issues are down to 0", but there must be many other indicators of progress. In particular, I'd especially like to know when I could start developing a new D7 site, making use of fields in core. The question is, will I be able to upgrade the site when D7 fully releases? From my understanding, it's best to wait until the Beta release at least, but it'd be great if you guys could elaborate on things like that. It must be on the minds of many, many people.
As well, it'd be great if you could highlight key areas where people could help to get D7 out. Angie does an amazing job of this (as do others), but I think more detail and direction would be great and help to create more buzz and interest around getting D7 launched. Maybe you could list off the top 5 critical issues that need developer's attention right now. Something like that.
Am I wrong? Maybe the Lullabot podcast is the wrong place for this. I'm just thinking there must be many listeners with the same thoughts and getting D7 released sooner than later would be great for the whole project (according to Dries' keynote anyways).
I hope I'm not being too critical as I think the Lullabot podcast is a great resource.
Thanks again!
2 out of 10
Two of the ten podcasts previous to this one have been dedicated to Drupal 7:
http://www.lullabot.com/audiocast/podcast-79-drupal-7
http://www.lullabot.com/audiocast/podcast-72-looking-foward-drupal-7
So yes, we're just as excited about Drupal 7 as you. And I'm sure we'll cover it again closer to its release, but there's a lot to talk about in the Drupal world and most sites launching today aren't using D7 yet.
Outdated
I agree you've definitely dedicated some podcasts to D7 which is great. I'm not suggesting that every podcast from here on in is also dedicated to D7.
I'm just suggesting having perhaps 10 minutes (or even 5) devoted to covering the current status of D7 in hopes to get more people excited and to bring attention to the work needing to be done.
While those 2 podcasts did cover D7, they are also very outdated and much has happened since.
Actually, your interview with Angie on TWIT is pretty much what I mean. It was great and did indeed give more of the overview that I was looking for.
I guess I was just disappointed: I was excited to see you finally had another podcast (a month and a half later), and then saw it was lengthy, which made me think "this is awesome. Surely they'll update us on D7 at some point." And it just never really came.
Anyways, I really don't mean to sound ungrateful! I will still listen to this great podcast regardless of how much D7 content you have. I know it's a lot of effort for you guys but please keep it up! I just thought you would appreciate feedback...
awesomeness!
Everett is my new personal hero! It kills me when he asks for something relatively simple yet fundamentally flawed in a11y in Drupal and gets shot down like hardcore due to a minor UX improvement :(
btw, I think certifiedtorock should take IRC karma in account, so I might be able to get over 4 q.q
oh well, I got my beanie so I'm happy :D

We used to use a lower-quality compression scheme, but people were having a hard time getting it to work on older MP3 players so we upgraded the sound quality about a year ago. Since then we haven't gotten any complaints... until now! :-)
The podcast is 83 minutes long. And hard drive space is cheap.

With larger file sizes, do you upload them via the file field or FTP and then link to them? Thank you.

Me getting a solid 4 is definitely flawed but I appreciate it. Testing patches and translating seems to build c2rock karma...
Thanks for the pointer.
Entertaining podcast, thx!

Can it be downloaded anymore?, the commute to work is too long without something like this to listen to.
Thanks, download link is back...

The podcast feeds no longer have the audio included as an RSS enclosure because I can no longer easily listen to the podcasts on my Android phone or Google Reader. :(
Pretty please add back the enclosures?
