Helpful or Splitting Hairs?
Understanding you may really just be using jQuery for AJAX, it might be helpful to not refer to it as "the AJAX library.." AJAX is a part of jQuery, but the library is really a Javascript library that happens to make AJAX easier like it does manipulating the DOM.
(And I liked the "whoa weird" overlay in the explanation of imagecache. hehe)
Your caching module sounds great, too. Great joaerb. And the zen theme is great... loving the fixed width version.
Great overview of image modules
I haven't used ImageCache yet, but I've heard a lot of buzz about it. Nathan's explanation of it was the best description that I've had of it so far.
A real "Ah ha!" moment.
