considerations

I agree with community documentation, however some thoughts...

1) is it moderated? What's to stop 'Joe Moron' posting bad or, even worse, incorrect documentation?
2) What if someone documents my module without me knowing? I believe that unless I was a drupal.org moderator I couldn't edit Joe Morons node, could I?

So, moderation and ownership... Anyone?

Community moderation and the docs team

No there is no moderation in the sense of a "gauntlet" for it to pass before being published. The entire community can keep track of changes in the handbook and obvious spam or off pages are deleted regularly. If the documentation is wrong then it is up to the community to report that either in comments on the page or in an issue for the documentation queue.

If someone else documents your module - be happy! If you don't like how they've documented it or need to make edits you can ask to have the handbook page ownership passed over to you. The better way to deal with it though is to simply join the documentation team (you do *not* need to be a site admin to edit the handbook). All you have to do is ask and once on the docs team you can edit most any page in the entire handbook, including your module handbook pages. Being on the docs team does not obligate you to anything, just lets you help out when you can.

All I want is to learn...

I am a drupal developer and love to get video podcasts to watch on trips and what not. I have tried to download the lullabot video podcast a number of time but in the end i can not play it on my ipod. Why does lullabot format the video podcasts in such a way that they cannot be played on your Ipod? I thought it might have been an error on my part so i went to the apple store and they informed me of the maximum resoulution of a podcast. Come to find out the lullabot podcast is much larger than the maximum res an ipod can handle. Does anyone have any idea or a place i can get the podcast in the a format my ipod can use (without having to convert it). Thanks for the help. - Jp

Thank you for your video podcasts!

I recognize that you may be producing video material as a way to make a profit, so any video podcast you give for free is a bonus! I appreciate the video podcasts you have made so far, and look forward to seeing more.

Your audio podcasts have also been helpful, cluing me in on views. Now I can't immagine why views and cck are not core modules.
