A full week of workshops on Drupal Performance, Scalability & Deployment in Dallas, TX
Lullabot has built and deployed some of the largest Drupal sites in the world. Come learn the secret deployment and performance tricks used on sites like grammy.com, fastcompany.com, michaeljackson.com and others. Lullabot has taught Drupal to thousands of developers, but this is the very first time we're sharing our deployment and performance secret sauce! Whether you're building and deploying grammy.com or a small business website, it's invaluable to know the tricks the pros use to ensure high performance and sustainability. There will be plenty of exercises, examples and always room for questions.
Drupal Performance & Scaling
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we'll cover all the basics of Systems Administration as well as all the tricks you need to know to fine tune for high performance and large amounts of traffic.

- Pressflow setup and fine tuning
- Varnish setup and fine tuning

- Scaling Drupal Search with Apache Solr

- Benchmarking
- Isolating a server's bottleneck
- Exploring hardware topology layouts (horizontal scaling)

Anyone with a basic understanding of command line who wants to learn how to setup the infrastructure to make Drupal zoom and support high traffic. Drupal Deployment & Best Practices
On Thursday and Friday we'll cover all of the best practices, tips and tricks for Drupal deployment to ensure that your projects are sustainable, secure and easily managed by anything from an individual to a larger team.
Topics We'll Cover Include:
- Version Control (Git and SVN)
- Devel module
- Devel Features
- Coder module
- Configuration in code (e.g. Features, Ctools, etc.)
- Creating Profiles/Distributions
- Deployment environments (Dev, Staging, Production)

What Should I Bring?
Attendees, bring your laptop in order to get the full benefit of the workshop. Lullabot will provide each participant with free wifi and their own hosted Drupal site to work on during class.
Windows Users:
If you are a Windows user, we recommend that you come with WAMP already installed on your machine.
Mac Users
If you are a Mac user, we recommend that you come with MAMP already installed on your machine.
Additional Information
Each morning will begin with registration and continental breakfast at 9:30am. Classes run from 10am to 5pm.
Registration includes continental breakfast and lunch daily.
We will be working with Drupal 6, but questions about other Drupal versions are always welcome.
