Zero to Hero: Build & Theme a Drupal 7 Site in a Week
Whether you're a web designer, developer, or otherwise, if you're new to Drupal and want to build a website with it there can be a daunting learning curve! Join the Lullabots for one week and go from zero to hero in your Drupal knowledge and abilities. You won't just learn trivial facts about Drupal and how it works, you'll get hands-on training while you build and theme a Drupal website yourself!
Drupal 7 Site Building
Are you new to Drupal and having trouble getting your head around how it all works? Have you seen an awesome site but have no idea how to make your default Drupal installation work like that? Feel like you could be building sites more effectively? Our site building crash course will show you how to put all the pieces together.Topics Covered Include:
- Installing and setting up a new Drupal site
- Enabling and configuring custom add-on modules
- New navigation and administration tools in Drupal 7
- Creating, editing, and managing content
- Designing your own custom content types with Drupal 7's Content Fields
- Combining content types to create complex structures
- Using the Views module to customize Drupal pages
- Building complex Views of your content
- Finding the right tools in Drupal's 8000-module addon library
Drupal 7 Theming
Still getting your head around the basics of Drupal theming? Need to upgrade your knowledge from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7? This the workshop for you!Topics Covered Include:
- Theming concepts and terminology
- Changes to Drupal's templates and markup in Drupal 7
- Info files
- Template files
- Finding and using variables in template files
- Creating your own custom template variables
- Adding template files to theme
- Creating targeted, dynamic templates
- Using Drupal 7's "renderables" in your theme

What Should I Bring?
Bring your laptop in order to get the full benefit of the workshop. Lullabot will provide each participant with free wifi and their own hosted Drupal site to work on during class.
Additional Information
Each morning will begin with registration and continental breakfast at 9:30am. Classes run from 10am to 5pm.
Registration includes continental breakfast and lunch daily.
We will be working with Drupal 7, but questions about other Drupal versions are always welcome.

Me too!
Too much for someone that will not be sent through a company. I mean 400$ a day?! Ouch. Wish you could find less expensive venues or something to try to lower the price a bit.
Would love to attend
I would absolutely love to attend the theming training but my budget wont allow it. Perhaps work study or other alternative opportunities might exist or be considered?
