Jake Strawn on the Omega Theme

Jake Strawn (aka himerus) talks about the Omega Base Theme, which implements the 960 grid system, supports HTML5, and provides some controls for laying out regions. He also talks about Omega's integration with the Context module via the Delta module in order to provide contextual layouts as well as his work on the associated Omega Tools and Omega UI modules. For more information, be sure to check out the Omega project page as well the Omega Theme microsite for more information and videos.

Omega Theme is Pure Awesomeness!

I've been using Omega Theme, Delta, Context and Views Argument from Context for the design and layout of the website I am currently developing. The Omega Theme leverages the new features in Drupal 7 such as the new page render array. Jake put a lot of thought into this project and it really shows. It really removes a lot of the guess work, doubt and wondering if I'm doing the best practice from the theming process.

Hopefully, other Drupal developers and designers will take a minute to install and tour the new Omega Theme to realize how amazing an idea it is. If Jake could get a group of developers and designers together supporting and testing the project, it would definitely move forward fast and far.

It was great!

It was truly an honor to have Kent pull me over in Chicago to do this Drupal Voices podcast!! I look forward to being able to do it again!

The sad part is that since Chicago (almost the week I returned home) Omega 3.x was born, and the responsive enhancements to the theme started fleshing out, so many of the great new features weren't discussed, or even thought of at the time this was recorded.

I'm giving presentations at D4D Boston (http://himer.us/jbmobH) and in London (http://himer.us/drupalconlondon) on Responsive concepts, mobile first thinking, and many of the new things that have made their way into the new version of Omega.

I look forward to getting on another podcast in the future to share the knowledge of Omega more!!

I LOVE the Omega Theme! I

I LOVE the Omega Theme! I have been using it for a client's website for a few weeks now and I can't say enough about it! It has been my inspiration for a design theme for their new landing page and email marketing campaign as well. I really think that Drupal designers will become in love with this theme if they haven't already stumbled across it.

Great job Jake!
