Ken Rickard (aka agentrickard) talks about some of the improvements to the node access system in Drupal 7. He mentions that all six of the action items that came out of a brainstorming session from at Node Access Birds of a Feather session from DrupalCon Szeged. Rickard talks about two new alter hooks in Drupal 7 related to node access including hook_node_access_records_alter() and hook_node_grants_alter(). This will allow for bridge modules to be written to resolve node access control conflicts that currently exist between node access control modules such as Organic Groups, Taxonomy Access Control, Content Access and Domain Access. Finally, he talks about the Domain Access module for controlling access by the inbound http host for access control rather than the user's roles and privledges.
