After the recent announcement that employees of 38 Studios video game company had lost their jobs, a number of Providence, RI-area tech businesses started planning a meetup to connect these employees with local tech companies that are hiring.

The former 38 Studios employees are invited to a meetup on Wednesday, June 6, at the Betaspring offices on Chestnut St in Providence. Lullabot CEO Jeff Robbins and President Matt Westgate will be there to talk with potential candidates. "We were sad to hear that 38 Studios was closing, and that so many people were losing their jobs," said Robbins. "But it's encouraging to know that a lot of Providence businesses are still doing well and are hiring. We're happy to show our support and participate in this event."
