Next week, a handful of Lullabot's directors will be getting together with leaders from other companies in sunny San Diego California for a couple days of conversations and idea sharing about the unique challenges and advantages of distributed teams and companies, and the things each company has learned that's helped them succeed.
In the eight years since Lullabot's founding, Jeff Robbins, Matt Westgate, and Lullabot's team have learned a great deal about the ins and outs of creating and managing a distributed company. Things like creating a great culture, building camaraderie, hiring distributed employees, establishing great team communication, and handling legal and tax issues across many states and countries have presented both challenges and opportunities for us as a distributed company. We realize that many of these same challenges and others are being faced by other distributed companies. Others have come up with their own unique solutions to similar challenges. Jeff and Matt created Yonder as a way to get some of these companies together to compare notes and share what we’ve all learned.
In attendance next week at Yonder will be leaders from Blackbird IT, BootsnAll Travel Network, Fire Engine RED, Four Kitchens, GitHub, Hands In Motion, Intridea, nGen Works, Nimbletoad, Simple [A], Thunderbolt Labs, UpWorthy, WAKA Kickball & Social Sports, WooThemes, and WorkingRemote.ly.
We’re excited to see what great discoveries come out of this event and to collaborate with such a dynamic group of leaders. Stay tuned for our a Yonder wrap-up and details on future distributed and remote working events. If you’d like to be considered for future events like Yonder, please fill out the form on the Yonder website so that we have your information.
