New CCK and Views Training Videos Available

The Lullabot Learning Series continues with two new Drupal tutorial videos. These high-definition videos are available today as digital downloads.
The two new videos dovetail together to create a single example project, beginning with content setup in the CCK video and continuing through to content listings and permissions in the Views video.
Learning CCK is a hands-on look at Drupal’s Content Construction Kit. In this tutorial video, we show you everything from CCK basics such as adding and displaying fields to more advanced topics such as CCK’s database storage mechanisms, field-level permissions, and how to theme CCK’s output. Each chapter builds upon the last as you build and configures content types for a university job board. The running time is 1 hr 50min. Read the full description and chapter listing.
Learning Views is a hands-on look at Drupal’s Views module. In this tutorial video, we begin with a general overview of Views’ interface and capabilities. The team then builds a complex example showing more advanced Views features such as arguments, relationships, displays, access control, exporting, and theming a view. We continue to use the university job board from Learning CCK as the sample site. Total running time is 1hr 53min. Read the full description and chapter listing.
While the videos are aimed towards Drupal 6, most of the theory and knowledge is common to Drupal 5 and above. These videos will sell for $75/ea, however through March 13th, we're offering a Drupalcon special of only $50 per video, so download your hi-res digital copy today!

Yes, there will be DVDs
DVDs are in our plans probably within the next couple of months. We still have to transcode them to the proper format, and then have them produced.

how advanced is the training?
Do the tutorials go into more depth than chapter 3 of Using Drupal did? That chapter was an excellent start, but I could really use some heavy-duty Views training.

I already have the Lullabot Drupal book (which is great), but I am looking for something that takes the Views training a lot further than the book. ESPECIALLY on how to use Arguments.

Does the video go further than the CCK and Views explanations in the book?
Yes, more in-depth. :)
Sorry for the delayed response, we're just getting back from a packed week at Drupalcon. And yes, both the CCK and Views videos go a lot deeper than the Using Drupal book chapter 3.

Do you plan to sell Learning Views and Learning CCK as a bundle at some reduced price?

The initial introductory offering is at a 33% off of each video, but after that, we will look at putting together a discounted rate for buying them together. But I doubt that even the bundle rate will be as good as this week's 33% off deal.
Taxonomy????
Does this go into how to use taxonomy and hierarchies with views?
We have been stuck for 3 weeks on trying to create:
A Parent only page that links to it's children.
With taxonomy image and in a grid or "gallery" layout - Not summary.
Tried taxonomy depth, taxonomy lineage, taxonomy list etc. etc.
if not, please, please make an addendum!
There a tons and tons of threads of people trying to do this.

Sorry, the $50 per video license is a $25-per-eye fee. Technically, you could have two employees watch the video if each one covers or closes one eye, but we recommend against being such a cheapskate.

CCK vid touches a bug
In Ch. 14, a PHP snippet that inserts the logged in user will through an error unless the admin is in the faculty role.
The PHP code for 'default value' returned Array ( [0] => Array ( [uid] => 1 ) ) , which is invalid.More details at http://drupal.org/node/243340
The fix is to simply make sure the admin user is in the faculty role as that's what was specified earlier as users that can be referenced. Hope this saves someone a few minutes...

The new CCK and Views Training Videos are awesome. I would recommend them to anyone who is going to be building websites on the drupal platform and likes saving themselves time and money.
If your thinking what to do next I would love to see a video on how to theme a drupal site from taking PSD files off a design team and converting these into templates, images and CSS for your drupal theme. It would also be great also to have another video that goes through module development. Both videos could share ideas on setting up a local development server and how to get super organized etc .

I'm From Egypt and I have been trying to buy the "Learning Views & CCK" videos with no luck at all...
I don't have a paypal account; Egypt is not a paypal country yet :( and my credit card doesn't seem to go through though it's working everywhere else!! I have sent you an email regarding this issue...
