It was great to hear you guys discussing Ubercart with Ryan. Ubercart is a topic that could easily have a weekly (monthly?) podcast of its own and Jeff was spot on when he said how reassuring it is to hear that Ryan is well aware of Ubercart's many shortcomings.

Another great show

As it happens, just last week I finished my fourth Drupal site and first Ubercart site for my sister's business.

As Jeff said, ecommerce is not a trivial business and there was a ton of new stuff to deal with (mainly on the payment side) but at the end of the day it was a good experience and I like Ubercart a lot. There's only one dangerous thing - listening to the show gave me a ton of new ideas for ways I could use Ubercart..!

Nice looking site!

Great work, Martin. The site looks great.

Great example of both Ubercart and Drupal in action.

paid event registrations

thanks, gang. it's really helpful to hear some narrative about Ubercart, and a description of architecting a successful Drupal + Ubercart site.

i wanted to point out a new module that the folks over at Growing Venture Solutions wrote for a project we worked on together. it's called Signup Integration for Ubercart, and true to its name, it integrates these two excellent modules to make it easier to accept payments for event "registrations". it's pretty directly relevant to the registration challenges you discussed for your workshops (starting ~33:00). i'm not sure i understand how uc_node_checkout works, but i'd love to hear anyone's thoughts comparing the two different approaches. mostly, though, i just wanted to point out uc_signup as another option.

anyway, thanks again, and thanks to Ryan for all of his work on Ubercart.

Ubercart as a subdomain

I enjoyed this podcast. Great stuff!

I noticed you guys have the store on a subdomain... Is that for UI purposes and SSl reasons? Thanks.

Jamie

Case Study would be a great resource

Jeff mentioned that he might write up a case study on implementing the Lullabot store and post it either here or possibly over at drupal.org; that would be an excellent idea.

I have looked but can't find it so perhaps it hasn't been posted yet ;)
Possibly I'm looking in the wrong place, but it would certainly be a helpful resource.

(Great podcast, as always)
Pete

Interesting concept

Drupal ecommerce - i've used Wordpress and Joomla to set up new sites but Drupal is territory that I have yet to head into. It amazes me how you can talk for 75 minutes :)
