Length of the podcast
I would very much like to hear the podcast, but 70:41 minutes (70? or 40? doesnt matter) not possible. Had there been a nugget of summary of 10 min, it was still doable. So thank you Lullabot, but your querry is too expensive. Please use memcache or similar modules to increase performance.
I never use Lullabot
I never use Lullabot anything, because the contributors are so flippant about things.
Building sites is work for me, and I've got lots of fun things I prefer to do rather than geek away my life
I believe the content is viable, but I just can't stand the lack of professionalism.
I have seen some great topics, and they were probably covered well. I just couldn't stay the course through all the giggling and childish banter.
I know the contributors are competent with Drupal I'm certainly not knocking their abilities. I am a worker bee, and when I try to listen to a lullabot of any kind I always click off and find my answers elsewhere.
Ummm... then don't listen
If you don't appreciate how Lullabot approaches things, then why would you be monitoring their podcasts, visiting their site, or posting on a comment on this page?
You seem a little bitter...
Love the Podcast!
I listen to podcasts while I work during the day, and I only listen to long ones. My opinion: TOO SHORT!
It's always great to listen to something "non-professional". Helps me get through my projects, and keeps me up-to-date on what's happening in Drupalworld. Thanks guys!
I can't wait to listen to
I can't wait to listen to this podcast. I love to listen when I take a walk. Lullabot podcasts are the ones I look forward to the most. Believe it or not, listening to your podcast helped me get through a really tough time I was going through about a year ago. I felt like you were my friends, even though you had no idea I was even listening. So, thanks, and keep it up!
harsh...
I haven't listened to the podcast yet, but come on. You guys are being crazy.
To Anonymous - if you are going be critical - grow a pair and post your name.
To both - the Lullabots are posting their content for FREE. What more do you want? Wade through the stuff you don't like to get to the good stuff. You gotta wait in line at amusement parks to ride the best rides. You gotta wait in line at the best restaurants to get the best meals. Oh yeah and both of those examples cost your "mucho dinero". These guys are producing for FREE.
If is because of comments like yours that make people quit podcasting!
Lullabots - please take the criticisms with a grain of salt. Thanks for your efforts. They are appreciated.
Tech can be enjoyable.
Bring it on, folks! I find nothing more enjoyable than listening to competent, expert people who know what they are doing and enjoy doing it. I'm under enough stress as it is, and can use all the laughs I can.
Thanks, Lullabots, and keep it up! (One satisfied *Using Drupal* purchaser...)
Thanks!
Thanks for another great podcast and for all the work and time that everyone put in to make it! I always look forward to listening to the podcast while I code Drupal!
+1
When I first found the Lullabot podcast I had plenty of great episodes to listen, but after listening to them all, now I only get 1 (or 2) per a month :(
more more more
big Thank you for doing this!
Rather then complain...
Rather then complain you should try to provide the community with as much as the Lullabot crew have. I can personally say that the podcasts were a huge part of my becoming a part of this community and learning how Drupal works. I have met and worked side-by-side with most of the 'bots and all I can say is that the sheer amount of personality of this fantastic group of people nearly matches their knowledge and skills. I for one would like to personally thank everyone within Lullabot for 68 podcasts worth of FREE, informational & fun podcasts.
I knew this would bring out
I knew this would bring out all the brown-nosers...
You can't say anything critical even if it makes sense. All the KMAssers always get their nuts in the fire.
I'm not knocking the Drupal content and the broadcast participants skill and knowledge. I'm just saying they should take all the off-topic banter into the bar and make their evening there.
Be nice
Yay domineaux, it wasn't enough to unfairly criticize Lullabot; you also felt the need to insult the people who enjoy their podcasts (just the way they are). The Lullabot podcasts highlight the personality and fun that goes on behind the scenes in Drupal. If you don't want to be a part of that... then fine that's your choice. Don't rain on other people's parade though. If web development is dull "work" to you, fine. It's not dull work to us. Heck half the time it's not even "work", much less "dull". Perhaps you should skip the podcasts and read a book instead. Perhaps an encyclopedia would be more interesting for you.
Thanks 'bots for all you do. Keep up the never-ending-awesome things you do for Drupal :)
He has an opinion just like
He has an opinion just like you do. Dont knock him for his and he wont knock you for yours.
I happen to agree with him. The podcasts I've mostly listened to sound like a "fun" morning radio show. Thats cool if you like them, but dont criticize us that dont. We're only being honest in the hopes *maybe* we can get more into them in the future if they become more "focused".
Always good to listen to
Hi there,
I just wanted to say that it's always great to listen to your podcasts.
I enjoy the banter and humour... oh and also the great Drupal stuff!
Thanks guys!
I am amazed at the logic and
I am amazed at the logic and conclusions commentors have made about my concerns.
Again, I appreciate "viable content", but have no use for the long-winded off-topic verbiage that extends the Lullabot broadcasts.
I watch youtube type sites when I want to be entertained or educated. I do at least get to make a choice wheter I want to laugh or learn when I use youtube.
You know. You know. You

@domineaux, is someone
@domineaux, is someone forcing you to listen to the podcast?
Keep up the great work Lullabots. Love the podcast (and the unprofessional banter).
Go lullabot!
I really enjoy the pods, big up.
When is lullabot FM starting :) ?
Brevity, hilarity and community
All good things have a balance of components. Including criticism. So its good to read some negative comments here. I too have been occasionally frustrated by the banter on these podcasts, "come on give me a tutorial". But then again its really nice to meet the folks. Solo coding can get lonely. %~)
I think that Lullabot is weak on intros and summaries with their podcasts. This is no doubt to do with the work flow. Get the crew together start recording and chat see what gives. This undervalues their content and makes it harder to navigate and search on.
But they do often annotate the talks with a comprehensive set of links.
So If you do want a more info intense Lullabot podcast experience try listening and then open the referenced links in another tab at the same time.
Keep up the great work Lullabot crew :~)
Hey how about enabling community annotateable audio?
Cheers John
Brevity, etc...
While I do think they may waffle on a bit at times, I wouldn't call it unprofessional at all - and could possibly be considered part of the charm.
The one thing that rang out with me from this episode was Jeff saying 2010 would be a new decade - which it isn't until 2011 (is the end of the naughties though).
And yes, I was one of those pedantic little gits in December 1999 informing everyone that the new millennium didn't start until 2001. Gezz Jeff, what were you thinking? :-)
Never got my 2009 glasses
I love the Lullabot podcasts. If you don't take them as in-depth training programs, then they are great to pop on at work for an hour or so. A great way to keep on on Drupal stuff and get some work done at the same time. I'm just sad that I never got my 2009 glasses.
Keep it up guys!
- Chris
Awesome as always, but a little down on Drupal?
I love the Lullabot podcasts. Nothing better than getting the email saying there is a new one available. My only complaint is that there's not enough...boo hoo!
I liked this one but got the feeling the team were a little own on Drupal. Maybe it's the current climate getting everybody down.
I've listened to all the podcasts and really like the choice of subject matter.
Just wanted to throw a few ideas in for possible future podcasts that would have me drooling and slobbering over my iTunes podcasts downloads:
1: An ubercart podcast - features, functionality, why (if it is) better than e-commerce module etc.
2: For those of us who missed the doitwithdrupal seminars: a discussion re. the non-technical aspects of creating, managing, promoting community sites.
Anyway, that's my tuppence worth.
Keep up the good work and by the way, Jeff I do find you hilariously hilarious!
Thanks guys.
did NOT take long
WGBH is it!
The first high-level defection from Drupal this year. I'm not surprised, it was taking a mighty long time. Ogh dwell.
