The Drupal Song - Remix Tracks

Several people have expressed interest in remixing The Drupal Song. And since we're licensing this song under the GPL, we'd like to release the "source" of the song. Attached here is a zip file containing high-quality stereo stem submix MP3s for each of the following:
- bass
- drums
- mallets (marimba, glockenspiel)
- piano
- voc - backups
- voc - lead
Update: The song is at 88 BPM and the tracks all start on the "4" beat. So if you line them up at measure 2, beat 4, the song will start on measure 3, beat 1.
Load 'em up into your favorite (re)mixing software and go to town!

It's awful!
It's like a bad commercial for some crappy plastic made-in-taiwan kid's toy. It's a disgrace to drupal and it's professional community -- Drupal is professional tool, not a toy. I would hate for any of my drupal clients to hear that song.
Surely if we want to market drupal musically, we can do better than that. Let's not lower ourselves to that low musical standard, and let's kill this tune. Pleeeeease!!

What part of "jingle" don't you understand?
I think it's a fun jingle that sure has a LOT of stickiness. If you'd like to come up with a more businesslike song, you should feel free to do so. Hell, remix this one with a more corporate attitude!
But in the meantime, you'll find that not everyone agrees with you.

it's so clear to me now that drupal has been hijacked by a crew of humorless fratboys that want to sit around and tell each other why they are all so great.
This song and the fools that think it qualifies as funny or reasonable marketing represent all that currently sucks about drupal.
I guess it's time to learn python or ruby.

Clients have humor...
Actually, I'd hate to have clients that didn't have any sense of humor. The song is not only funny...but semi-professionally done. It's expected to go gold by 2008.
Seriously though, I've never really had clients that orried about what CMS their site is using. Most clients just want a site that works, that is portable, and is easy to use. They could care less the name of the CMS.

It is obviously done in the jingle style with tongue-in-cheek and was never meant to be come the official Drupal song - if there even was a legitimate need for such a thing.

I love it
I think the jingle is great. It's lighthearted and very sticky. I'm not a remixer, but I'm interested to see what people do with this. Kudos to Jeff and the gang for putting it out there.
If people want a more "serious" song, take the drupal motto to heart and go do it!

This is actually one of the things that do that some of os will travel halfway around the world to be with this wonderful bunch of geegy people.
